I was reluctant to share this one but in the spirit of #Throwbacks​ here goes. This is an incomplete music video featuring Ej von Lyrik, Ben Caesar - Music page, Teba Shumba ahoy by Kori Clark. Besides the visuals seen here additional scenes were to be shot with myself in it also featuring DJs/producers in Cape Town instrumental to the music scene across genres. I even wanted to do a mini doccie around it at the time. Well it didn’t pan out as EJ relocated to Holland, Ben also just busy with his plans and overall scheduling just became a challenge. The lesson...always be on the moment - tomorrow is not promised. As creatives we have these big epic visions of how things must be to fit our vision but sometimes it doesn’t work that way. I wanted this epic execution to feed my ego because I wanted this music video to be on the same level as ‘Follow is home’ chasing the high that brought me. I was immediately humbled - things don’t always work out the way you want it - but in that moment’ what is the lesson?

In everything that I’ve executed since then I’m extremely conscious about my intent - from releasing music, mixes, live-streams. Am I chasing vanity metrics, likes, views? If so why? What is my intent? For myself I always feel it’s important to question why you are doing things...it’s been source of reevaluating and auditing myself and within that I’m more inspired to create. Anyways let’s stop that there....
